Honors, Awards, Nominations & Media:
2019 Diamond Quill Lifetime Achievement Award:
Donna is a writer who seeks truth and justice for children exposed to abuse. She speaks out and writes against these injustices done onto children. Donna's work has landed her on the Barnes and Nobles, and Amazon's bestsellers list multiple times.
Donna is an activist. She used her influence in the growth of gaining national support (serving as president) for Michigan nonprofit Dreamcatchers for Abused Children from April 1, 2008 - February 13, 2015. On January 1, 2009, Donna created, produced and hosted Dreamcatchers Talk Radio; Michigan's largest 24 hour child abuse internet radio educational network until she resigned in 2015 to become the face of Your Voice Radio's popular show, Two Nana's at Noon. She also used her influence in the growth of gaining national support for Conner's Law, making child abuse by murder a violent crime in Kentucky. She united with Erin's Law in 2013 and in June 2016 she and her best friend and sister advocate Lee Roberts co-founded Advocates United for Humanity. Donna is a member of the Nonfiction Authors Association, received the NNPAAW Award in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, and a 2016 and 2018, 2019 nominee of the Pinnacle Awards and the 2019 Diamond Quill Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.

2016, 2018, 2019 Pinnacle Book Achievement Award:
On April 7, 2016 Northern Books and Donna, Lee Roberts and Laurie Smith-Tornerup received an invitation to the Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards.
Becoming a writer is one of the most challenging career paths one can take. Most successful writers have the combination of persistence and talent, but don't forget to throw in a handful of luck. Pollsters reports 80 percent of Americans would like to be a published author and according to a report by Google there are 130 million published books in human history.
NABE, the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs, now celebrating 35 years, sent nominees invitations to the Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards. These awards have been given for more than 29 years and honor some of the finest Publishing Houses, Small Presses and Independent Publishers in over 60 categories including children's, fiction, memoir, self-help, health, inspirational, young adult, parenting and poetry.
Northern Books a small publishing company based in Clinton County received an invitation to the Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards on Thursday. Northern Books was created by Donna Kshir (Clinton County, Pa.), Lee Roberts (Crestview, FL.) and Laurie Smith-Tornerup (Calgary AB Canada) to publish independent authors to share their stories and celebrate their experiences - simply - through words; were among the candidates.
Kshir, Roberts and Smith-Tornerup have each made a name for themselves in the publishing world; making Amazon and Barnes & Nobles Bestsellers lists multiple times for their advocacy books focusing on Parenting & Relationships, Family Relationships Abuse, Partner Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Homelessness, Orphan's and Foster Home Books. Their current release, Tent City: Tragedy Turned Triumph focuses on the homeless crisis in Charleston, West Virginia.
The trio has been previously honored for their child advocacy work; uniting with Erin's Law in 2013 to create awareness for childhood sexual abuse, being nominated for the 2010 Rare Life Award and receiving the 2012, 2013 and 2014 National Non-Profits Advocate Apprecilove Week Award to nonprofit organizations, advocates, community leaders and youth leaders across the USA. Each woman considers herself "one more voice" to make this world a better, safer place for all mankind.
The Pinnacle Awards is based on book content, quality, writing style, presentation and cover design. Winners from all categories will be announced in the Summer 2016.
